Zoning Board of Appeals
March 8, 2016
Present: Dan Welker, John Ceresoli, Gene Dayton, Brian O’Connor, Paul Adams, Paul Gregory, Mike Keville, Mrs. Doss
Chairman Welker called the meeting to order at 7 p.m.
The Board members reviewed the minutes of February 9, 2016. Upon the motion made by John Ceresoli, seconded by Brian O’Connor minutes of February 9, 2016 approved as written. All members present voting in favor.
Chairman Welker thanked John Ceresoli for Chairing the February meeting.
Keith Wilcox – Variance Request
The Board members reviewed a variance request for 173 W Genesee Street owned by Keith Wilcox. Mr. Wilcox has applied for an area variance to construct a propose garage structure that is taller than the Code allows. The Code allows 12 ft. and Mr. Wilcox is proposing a 25ft high structure. This application will need to be sent to Madison County because of its proximity to Route 5. The Board agreed that a public hearing will be scheduled for April 12, 2016 at 7 p.m.
Mike asked what are some of the most common issues that the Zoning Board deals with. The most common seem to be area variances for sheds, porches, fences and signage. The Board discussed some of the activities of the Board over the past several months.
