Zoning Board of Appeals

October 11, 2016


Present:  Dan Welker, Gene Dayton, John Ceresoli, Brian O’Connor, Paul Adams, Rod Collins, Mrs. Doss


Chairman Welker called the public hearing to order at 7 p.m.


Rod & Debi Collins – 285 Genesee Street

The Clerk advised that information had been sent to Madison County and that notices had been sent from the Village in regard to the public hearing. Mr. Collins explained that they would like to move the existing shed that is in their backyard to the north lot line by three feet, giving them more room to access the shed from their driveway.  The shed currently meets the required 10 foot side yard setback.  Moving the shed would put it 7 feet from the side lot line.  Mr. Collins explained that getting things in and out of the shed in its’ current location is difficult, and now with his parents living at the residence, storing his mom’s motorized scooter is difficult to access because of the lack of space to maneuver it.  The shed was built on 6 x 6’s and can be slid over fairly easily.  The shed would be in line with the house.  The shed would only be moved to the side by the three feet.  Chairman Welker asked if anyone had further questions.  No other questions were asked.  The public hearing for Collins area variance was closed at 7:04 p.m.


Chairman Welker called the regular business meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.



The Board members reviewed the minutes of September 13, 2016.  Upon the motion made by John Ceresoli, seconded by Gene Dayton, minutes of September 13, 2016 approved as written.  All members present voting in favor.


Rod & Debi Collins – 285 Genesee Street

The Board members discussed the public hearing information presented this evening for Rod & Debi Collins for an area variance allowing them to move their existing shed three feet to the north side yard lot line at their property.  The side yard setback would then be 7 feet, thus the need for the area variance.  Upon the motion made by Brian O’Connor, seconded by Gene Dayton, the Board approves the request of Rod & Debi Collins of 285 Genesee Street to move their existing shed three feet to the north side lot line at their property.  The Board also determines this to be an unlisted action, negative SEQR having no environmental impact.

Paul Adams – yes

Dan Welker – yes

Motion carried.


The next meeting will be November 8, 2016 at 7 p.m.


The meeting adjourned at 7:17 p.m.
